As all great photographers know.. Lighting is everything!
So where do you begin when searching for lighting that meets all your requirements? I am not going to lie I was completely overwhelmed when I began my quest for lighting in my new studio. Upon my investigation I came across a brand called Flashpoint.
Flashpoint happens to be the house brand lights for a company I know and love, Adorama. I was seeking a set up which would include a 5 strobe system with all attachments, stands, soft boxes, grids etc for around $3500-$4000. After all of my researching, it became clear that it was a no brainer…. Flashpoint! Flashpoint! Flashpoint!
Check out my first image shot with the Flashpoint system using 3 heads.
The 2 rear heads were used to light the backdrop. I used raw heads powered all the way down to 1/32 positioned 5 feet from the back wall. The key light was a 1×4 foot strip soft box with a grid on it. The key light was 6 feet in front of the subject to the left at almost full power. Iso was 100 at 200 f8. Image was made B&W in Alien Skin.
I couldn’t be happier with lights. They produce great results but what I truly love, is that I didn’t have to break the bank to get an amazing outcome!!
